Self Portrait
This project was all about using the Photoshop skills that we have learned this year to create a self portrait. There was no rubric for this project, and the only guidelines that we were given was that we had to use the Adobe software in some way to create our finished product. My self portrait is based upon the different sides of me. The charcoal drawing of myself is what people see all the time: happy, silly, and goofy. The hand drawing the picture has words written in it that exemplify what I don't show very often: shy, quiet, withdrawn, thoughtful. The quote on the picture is something that I personally believe in. I feel that you should connect to every piece of work that you create. The overall look of the picture is that of an artist creating a new piece, which is relevant because I love to draw.
Brave New World
Overall, this project went very well for me and there are very few things that I would change. If given the opportunity to do this project again, I would spend less of my work time coming up with a project idea. I spent too much of my time not actually doing anything productive, which cost me tonThe Brave New World project was a shared project between Humanities and Digital Arts. Xtranormal Animation
The XtraNormal animation project was a way to introduce us to the world of animation before we started working in Adobe Flash. The objective of this short project was to familiarize ourselves with camera angles, movement, character interaction, etc. XtraNormal was a fun way to get started in animation, and after doing mine, I feel more confident in the fact that my Prehistoric animation will be very cool. The XtraNormal program was nice to work with, because the animation was basically already done for us, all we had to do was plug in the commands for the characters and VIOLA! We had animations. I think that my video actually turned out really well.
Some Photoshopped pictures.....
How-To Videos
As a quick and fun way to learn the basics of Photoshop, we were tasked to watch how-to videos and follow them in Photoshop. These are the final products:
3D Ice Effect
Avatar Yourself!
(For this project, I used a picture of my teacher's face.)

Color Theory
Photo Composition
For this project, we first learned about the Golden Section Rule, The Rule of Thirds, and the Diagonal Rule.
Then, applying what we had just learned about lighting and photo composition, we took our cameras and spent a couple class periods outside trying to capture photographs that applied the rules of photo composition. These were some of the pictures I got:
